NiSi Reverse Nano IR Graduated Neutral Density Filter
The Reverse Nano IR Graduated Neutral Density Filter from NiSi is specially designed for landscape photographers. This filter is made from high quality optical glass (not resin) with nano coating to prevent losing any single bit of detail. Sunset and sunrise photography sometimes can be challenging. NiSi reverse GND filter is designed with the dark area on the center of the filter and gradually clearer to the top while the bottom part is clear preventing over exposure of the skyline. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image. This filter holder is compatible with NiSi Filter Holders or other Standard same size Filter Holder’s (Lee, Cokin or Formatt Hitech). The filter can be repositioned in the holder allowing to recompose the photo for the best result.
By not using a neutral density filter the camera is vulnerable to infra-red light which will cast the unwanted red colour to the photos when shooting at a small aperture. NiSi added the infra-red protection coating layer to this filter which helps to eliminate the infra-red light through the lens to bring back the natural colour.
Reverse Graduated Neutral Density Filters are used to bring an overly-bright part of a scene into the dynamic range of the sensor. For example, it can be used to darken a bright sky with the sun on the horizon so that both the sky and subject can be properly exposed.
